Development of value chains and clusters is part of strengthening European competitiveness and the creation for sustainable economies

Climate change requires carbon neutral activities and wiser usage of natural resources. Slower economic growth, bottle-necks in raw material and component delivery chains, energy prices and inflation make predicting markets and operational environment more challenging. Weaknesses in long international sub-contracting chains, environmental traffic burden of long logistics and covid-19 pandemic have raised appreciation for higher self-sufficiency.

Having rich natural resources and high technology expertise, Finland has many new business opportunities. Oulu South region also provides rich natural resources and competitive operational base for companies in multiple industry sectors. Markets are open for new products and services with environmentally friendlier impact.

We are aiming for higher value-added products and services from renewable natural resources.

Many funding instruments are currently promoting stronger digitalization, bioeconomy, renewable energies, green growth, environmentally friendlier industry, traffic, construction and the prevention of climate change.
