Biocluster Finland has started operating as continuous cluster after the preparatory projects. In the January cluster newsletter, we will describe that in more detail, and we have also compiled current events in the newsletter:

The Green Transition Business Competition 2026 has been opened
The annual Green Transition Business Competition highlights the Finnish expertise and entrepreneurship in sustainable development. The competition can give visibility to companies’ environmentally friendlier solutions and may even open up funding opportunities. In addition, the competition provides companies an excellent opportunity to network with other leaders in the field. The application for the competition must be submitted by Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM at www.biocluster.fi/en/gala/.
All innovative and growing Finnish companies under the age of 15 with an environmentally friendlier product or service solution can take part in the competition. The Green Transition Business Competition does not have any industry restrictions, which means that companies participating in the competition represent a wide range of industries. In previous years, there has been companies, among others, from the fields of mining and construction, textile industry and various energy solutions.
The winner is selected based on the innovativeness, growth potential and environmental friendliness of the company’s solution or service. The winner of 2025 was Elmery Oy, and the audience voted Nordtreat Oy as their favorite. The winners of previous years are Hycamite TCD Technologies Oy and Owatec Group Oy, and the audience favorites are Woodio Oy and Owatec Group Oy.

At the core of cluster operations
Biocluster Finland Oy was registered in November 2025 and we have started the operations as continuous cluster. We will continue to promote public interest and support green and digital transition, business and innovation development, as during the preparatory projects. In addition, we have introduced a new trading name, Resilience Finland, under which the cluster promotes resilience, resource wisdom, and security in Finland.
Our key activities include, for example, various network events supporting sustainable development innovations, such as the Green Transition Business Competition. Additionally we are strengthening our network’s international RDI collaboration, as well as companies’ competitiveness.
